Nanthini showed interest in art at a young age and attended art classes from 10 years old and even today she attends art classes. Her art is colourful and varies in styles as she has a talent for choosing colours. Todate, she has completed around 40 pieces including some that have been sold to buyers in the UK and Ireland. Her earliest art pieces were oil paintings but she now prefers to use acrylic paint as she finds it easier to handle. Among the subjects she has chosen are nature based with lotus, bougainville, trees, gardens and fish.
Currently working as teacher’s aide in a kindergarden, Nanthini is fondly known and popular with a number of friends, both from her workplace, including her former teachers.
Diagnosed with dyspraxia from birth, which makes it difficult to vocalise and express herself, Nanthini was trained to write and attended private special schools. She also trained under private teachers to express herself, with her biggest asset being writing.
Art allows her to express herself in a unique way. Her process of producing the colours and producing art makes her happy and proud, especially once she shows us the finished product. She enjoys art very much and looks forward to painting on a regular basis.
